The American Dietetic Association states that we need to eat fruits and vegetables because they are packed full with so many vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Substances called phytochemicals are found in fruits and vegetables. These phytochemicals help maintain optimal health and prevent disease. Tired of eating apples all the time? Try baking the apples with cinnamon. Or how about applesauce instead? If you do not like applesauce, how about dried apples? Buy bags of prewashed, precut vegetables at the supermarket. Put in spinach, tomatoes, chickpeas, green peppers, mushrooms, and other vegetables for a more vitamin-rich meal.
